Instagram Microblogging

This online design assignment has honestly been quite a lot of fun!! While I’m usually a fairly private person, it’s been very nice to post things knowing it’s not just my close friends who get to see what I’m up too. The way I see it, this assignment and this Instagram account basically serve as a time capsule of sorts. It’s a way for me to leave behind pieces of my journey here at BCIT so I can pick them up later and see just where I started. At the moment, this account is only a couple weeks old. If you want to see more of my BCIT journey in real time, you can find the link to this account on my contact page!

This post was very interesting and fun!! Taking photos throughout the event while also being actively involved and talking to people was extremely rough. That said, I do believe there is still a bit of a charm factor, and that it shows how I was more focused on working and answering peoples questions. The song choice was one I ended up being very happy with it. While the segment I selected was just instrumental, the song’s title reflected the event nicely. It was held in the late afternoon/evening, and was full of colorful personalities both answering and asking questions alike.

This post was a photo dump of from my Thanksgiving weekend, it was odd putting it together because it had nothing to do with
school. That said, it being so broad allowed me to have hashtags for everything, introducing a
good amount of variety all around.

This assignment was a fun one, as it allowed me to do and learn multiple things! I learned that I’m best at holding a camera, but not necessarily using it (yet). I got to explore certain spots on campus I hadn’t been to yet, plus I was able to bring some comedy into little spaces throughout the process!

This photo is definitely one of my favorites, the intrigued side eye and the perfectly timed sip of chai really is perfect. It’s an excellent example of a quality candid!

Online Storytelling [Medium Blogging]

This assignment, while still ongoing, if one that I’m really enjoying so far. Within the assignment, we actually had two option for how to create it: A single video or 5 blog posts. To most, the video would seem like the easiest and fastest option out of the two. For some its probably better suited towards their personal skills. That said, writing is something I really enjoy, but I haven’t had much time to do any of it recently. This assignment has given me an outlet for my writing in a way that isn’t super formal but casual, talking about school in a more conversational sense. Being able to put my thoughts online for my friends and other people to see is really interesting to me because it gives me the opportunity to find both likeminded people, and build deeper connections with my friends.

This second blog post was about how I got to BCIT as well as how and why I chose to enroll in the Radio Arts and Entertainment program. I was able to reflect on my high school activities and realize just what made me who I am today, as well as general skills and passions I gained along the way!

Writing down how my plans for after high school changed over time was definitely interesting and really put it into perspective for me.
