Sadie’s reason to keep going and keep working

Crochet is a hobby Sadie picked up late in her grade 9 year. In her textiles class, the teacher randomly gave her and her classmates the option to learn and do crochet projects instead of the normal sewing projects. She remembers thinking it was super cool, and decided to give it a shot.
Sadie isn’t great at starting new things, especially if she can’t get it right instantly. She realized pretty quick that if she didn’t pull herself together and understand that learning is a process, she wouldn’t get anywhere. It took time, but eventually she learned how to do a single stream of chains, the foundation of most crochet projects. From there, she threw myself into her first big project. The jellyfish here was that project!! It took weeks upon weeks to finish, hours spent in class and at home working away. She vividly remembers when she finished this, it was right at the end of second term, and specifically right before marks cut off. Sadie was determined to get the jellyfish done and handed in for marks. In the end, she technically didn’t finish it’s marking sheet before the bell rang, but her teacher let her stay the few minutes she needed to get it finished and handed in. Sadie was so proud of herself.
From there, she managed to make a number of things. Birthday gifts, school projects, gifts for teachers even. While Sadie doesn’t have as much time to work on it nowadays, she is still very grateful for this skill and hobby! She does hope to get back into it soon, and specifically finish up some older works in progress.
Sadie has two pets who, while chaotic and bad at listening, are huge parts of her life of which she loves dearly.
Piglet, her cat of only a few years, came from her mothers boyfriend. He had had her for years prior to moving in with her mother, brother, and herself. Soon after moving in Piglet quickly made Sadie’s room her new home. This transition was difficult at first, and sometimes still is. That said, her goofy personality began to show with time and she loves every bit of it.
Gucci, Sadie’s dog of almost 15 years, was essentially her birthday present when she was 5 years old – at least that’s what she always tells people – he’s been her best friend since then. He’s been with her through everything, and Sadie is forever grateful for that. His silly antics and chaotic demeanor make life so much more fun. For a dog that’s almost 14 years old, he often still has the energy of a puppy! He also is horrifically bad at playing fetch, but can play a mean game of tug of war. That said, Sadie does always win, but she makes sure to let him have his fun.

Sadie’s family is a huge part of who she is and helps heavily in defining who she is as a person today.
Her and her brother, while maybe not so much anymore, were extremely close in their childhood. She was always there to protect and help him whenever he needed it, and They were basically always together. Sadie will always be grateful for him and the lessons he’s taught her, both direct and indirect.
Sadie and her mom have been through so many things, and grown together in unimaginable ways. No matter what happens, she knows Sadie will always have her in her corner when she needs her most! She is so glad that they’ve managed to strengthen their bond over the years, and she can’t wait for whatever silliness they get up to next. Sadie is forever thankful for what she’s done for her and taught her as her mother, and only hope to repay her in due time.
